Shany van den Berg (b. 1958, Riversdale) is a largely self-taught South African artist based in Stellenbosch, working across portraiture, figuration, mixed media and sculpture, with recurring themes of womanhood, identity and family. A full-time artist since 1992 and a finalist in London's BP Portrait Award, she received an Ampersand Foundation Fellowship in 2013 and is represented by Everard Read.
