André Prinsloo

André Prinsloo is a South African figurative sculptor based in Pretoria who models the human form in wax and clay and casts primarily in bronze. A former fine-arts lecturer who turned to sculpture full-time in 2012, he is best known for co-creating — with Ruhan Janse van Vuuren — the nine-metre bronze statue of Nelson Mandela unveiled at the Union Buildings in 2013, the tallest figurative statue of Mandela.
